With the morning spent awaiting the arrival of autoglass to fix a windscreen chip (yup, they got the boat across from Aberdeen to fix the problem!) the afternoon was spent in Lerwick visiting Shetland Museum & Archives on Hay’s Dock. The museum and parking outside are free, which for such an incredible centre really is a surprise.
There is loads to do at the museum and displays are constantly being improved. The updated focus on language and local legends was a highlight for me, whilst the bairns enjoyed a treasure hunt across the many levels and exhibitions.
