I’m told life is about balance and so after nearly 4 weeks on the road and numerous cooked breakfasts I found myself on the start line for the 2nd Great Aberdeen Run – half marathon distance.
It had been torrential rain leading up to the race which had left a sheen over the granite city and the skies promised more enroute. The route took in the harbour, the seafront (windy!), Seaton Park and the city centre.
The race itself was well organised, I enjoyed the scenery and discovered Aberdeen had a few more hills than I’d thought! There were a few cobbled parts of the run that were challenging as well as the headwind along the seafront but otherwise a quite pleasant run in prep for the Great North in two weeks time.
