A great day out in Leicester today, we headed to Birstall Park and Ride which was easy and convenient (£3 to park up and return journeys for us both).
Treetop Adventure Golf was our first port of call – it has two indoor 18 hole mini-golf courses and we played both! Nicola won both. A good variety of simple putts, demanding obstacles and totally lucky trick shots. It was a brill venue, wonderful decor, extremely busy but I guess that’s what happens when something is great (and you get both course for the price of one before midday).
We then took New Walk up to Leicester Museum which had a mix of galleries – dinosaurs, Egyptians, growing up in the 80s – pretty interesting and all free. Well worth a look.
Lunch at the Distillery (pizza in a cone!), before a mooch around the Guildhall and the town. All very pleasant and we even grabbed two punnets of strawberries off the market for a pound before hopping back on the bus.
I’ve never really done Leicester as a city, I have to say today has really made me think I’d happily visit again. A great value day, lots of future places to explore.
