Workbridge in Northampton is more than just a garden centre, shop and cafe – it’s a place with a heart. Whilst I’m busying myself in grabbing plants for the garden, canvas prints for the lounge walls, hitting the charity shop and treating myself to a tray bake (or two), Workbridge is supporting people with mental health needs, autism, learning difficulties and brain injuries. It’s truly inspiring to find individuals gaining valuable life and employment skills in a supportive environment.
But Workbridge isn’t just about good deeds, it’s about delightful experiences too! Their cakes and drinks are absolutely fantastic – perfect for a satisfying post-browse break. And speaking of browsing, the garden centre is a treasure trove for green-thumbed enthusiasts. They have a wonderful selection (including lemon verbena and curry plants that I’ve struggled to find in bigger garden centres) and the knowledgeable staff are always happy to help.
What truly impressed me, however, was the artwork. The canvases they offer are stunning and clearly created with love. I ordered a series using my photographs for our lounge and everyone comments when they walk in. Each piece is a testament to the talent and hard work of the individuals at Workbridge.
Overall, Workbridge is a place that nourishes the body, soul, and mind. You can feel good knowing you’re supporting a worthy cause while indulging in delicious treats and surrounding yourself with beauty. I highly recommend checking it out!
